Obituary for Charlie Slaton

Charlie Slaton, 82 of Princeton, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Princeton Health and Rehab Center. He was a retired service manager for Trice Hughes Chevrolet, an Army veteran, and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Charlie was one of the original members of the Caldwell County Rescue Squad and also a member of the Woodmen Lodge #92.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Sylvia Jeanette Merrick Slaton; son Charles "Chuck" W. Slaton Jr. and wife Hestella of Princeton; sister Doris Marie Fraley of Lyon County; grandchild Nickie Doyle; 2 step-grandchildren, Mike Oliver and Melissa Lefan; great grandchildren Cael Logan Doyle, and caregiver, Vivian Hurley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lafayette and Virginia Marie Dunbar Slaton.

Memorial graveside service will be held Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. James Shuck officiating.
